This blew me away

He refutes the blind watchmaker Intelligent Design argument as a straw man, because watch parts aren't alive

Then he builds a watch simulation program made of "live parts" and runs it to show that live watches would evolve

I have done something similar at http://schoolgamemaker.rupert.id.au/samples3/
but it uses asexual reproduction.

Interestingly, we both use a matrix for the genetic code with random mutation of a matrix cell. I can see how I can easily change mine to sexual reproduction.

Interesting how the genetic code can carry harmless mutations then the two halves of an evolutionary leap can be put together by sexual reproduction.

Would be interesting to compare evolution rates for sexual and asexual reproduction
